In 1990 , Ernest SOULARD decided to take further control of the quality of its products and the choice of duck breeding stock by purchasing a hatchery in Remouillé.
Duck egg to duckling
The eggs are collected and transferred to the hatchery where they are stocked at a controlled temperature. The eggs are then placed into incubators which recreate an environment similar to that of a nesting female duck. At about 15 days the eggs are "candled to separate eggs unfertilised and eggs which are fertile. At 5 weeks, the developed eggs are transferred to a hatching area. After hatching the ducklings are sent directly to our duck rearers in air-conditioned lorries.
